What are the Benefits of the MB Series Honing Machine?
The MB series honing machines are compatible with a wide range of materials. Whether it’s easily machinable, low-wear materials such as aluminum alloys, cast iron, and stainless steel, or high-hardness, high-wear materials like hardened steel, titanium alloys, ceramics, nickel-plated, and chrome-plated components, the machine maintains precise machining accuracy.
Traditional honing machines rely heavily on mechanical buttons and require a high level of operator experience. The MB series machine is equipped with a touchscreen control panel, allowing precise adjustment of all parameters, which can effectively and conveniently reduce errors and scrap rates.
The honing tool continuously wears during machining, and without timely compensation, the honed bore diameter will deviate. The MB series honing machine is equipped with a tool wear compensation function, which supports both manual and automatic compensation, and is suitable for long-term continuous machining as well as high-precision or small-batch workpieces.
The dual-spindle design allows the machine to process two workpieces simultaneously, which can increase the output, reduce the machine’s footprint, and ensure consistency among products within the same batch.
Also, the machine can be configured with a dual-station operating mode, which significantly reduces idle time and improves overall equipment efficiency.
The MB series honing machine is equipped with a USB interface, which allows programs to be copied directly from a computer to the machine. Compared with traditional manual program input, this method offers higher data transfer efficiency, fewer errors, and is not limited by the machine’s internal storage capacity.
The machine also features a private motor and ball screw drive system. The private motor enables precise positioning and fast response, while the ball screw ensures smooth motion with reduced friction. Moreover, its feed resolution reaches 0.1 μm, enabling ultra-high-precision feeding.
The MB series honing machine comes with a honing oil temperature control system, which can precisely regulate the coolant temperature and minimize the thermal deformation of workpieces. In addition, it is equipped with a cooling tank of over 300 liters, with a coolant flow rate exceeding 100 liters per minute, which not only supports long-term operation but also efficiently dissipates the heat generated during honing.
To allow the coolant, honing oil, and lubricating oil to be reused in a closed loop, a good filtration system is important. The MB series is equipped with a magnetic separator, paper belt filter, and oil cooler. Also, its filtration accuracy reaches below 25 μm, which can effectively remove tiny metal particles generated during the honing process.
Traditional honing machines require operators to manually add or inject oil regularly to reduce friction and prevent rust. The MB series integrates a comprehensive lubrication control system covering all key moving components, including the spindle, guideways, ball screws, and rolling bearings, which can automatically supply lubricant and ensure smooth machine operation.
